Evening everyone, hope you are all well out there. Tonight I'm not focusing on what I'm wearing, I'm actually focusing your attention on what I'm playing.
This wonderful instrument is the "F-Style Mandolin" by "Voodoo Shilton" owner of the awesome musical instrument store "Voodoo Instruments". Ever wanted an instrument to play in second life but cant find one with decent animations or the sound clips are to short? Well that's not a problem at all with Voodoo's instruments, for instance this Mandolin has over 10 minutes of music that plays.
"Methodist Preacher" and "Pilgrim's Knob", both classic bluegrass tunes by Bill Monroe, as performed by Jim Richter
"Handel's Pastorale", a traditional classical piece reinterpreted by Evan J Marshall
"Over the Hills and Far Away", the classic Led Zeppelin tune reinterpreted for solo mandolin by Jim Richter.
You can set the instrument so that it plays the songs on a loop indefinitely, with animations as well. The mandolin will "preload" the music clips before you are able to select them to play. Also you have an "Update" button that will check the Voodoo Instrument Update Server to make sure you have the most up to date instrument that's available. You can also turn the playing instrument animation on & off if you want (it might be a bit strange wearing a mandolin that's playing music whilst not moving your hands o_o so I've had the animations going at all times :D )
In the folder you receive it contains 2 sizes of mandolin, one is marked "Small" if your AV is a child or normal female sized AV I suggest the "Small" would be perfect to you, considering I have a very large AV I am wearing the other mandolin you receive in the folder. It took me a few mins to position the instrument so it looked correct when I started the animations (You don't want to be strumming air do you lol).
As you can see from the photos the textures on this baby are frigging awesome, I've not seen a instrument look so smooth & flawless before (that's this cheap). He has taken so much care & attention on the details its a joy to look at. Makes me wanna run around to random stranger's & shout "LOOK AT MY MANDOLIN, SEE THESE AWESOME TEXTURES!!!" But alas I think I'd be locked up in the SL loony bin.
